REBOUND™ splinting materials provide the following characteristics and configurations:
"REBOUND" with 100% elastic memory.
Transparent when reaching proper molding temperature of 160 F (70 C). Provides assistance with proper placement of splint to avoid pressure areas. Upon cooling, the material will return to its original white color. (Not applicable to color products).
REBOUND™ - the only coated/treated elastic splinting material that does not stick when heated.
Reheat and remold with ease due to the 100% elastic type memory.
Instant bonding.
Three thicknesses - 1/16", 3/32" and 1/8" (includes color products).
Perforations provide varying degrees of ventilation and weight (includes color products).
Recommended for all splints commensurate with the expertise of the splint maker. Available in smooth or perforated. Does not require any lubricating of the skin and/or special treatment of the water in a hot water source, i.e., heating pan, hydrocollator, etc. Reheating and reshaping numerous times is accomplished because of the 100% elastic memory and coated surface.
REBOUND™ (uncoated) - Generally used by experienced splint makers. This material will attach itself to any area it touches and may be helpful when conformity is preferred. Uncoated materials will self-bond quickly upon heating.
Helpful Fabrication Tips:
Pull and pinch method assists with the fabrication of splint. No requirement for that extra set of hands. Upon cooling, material will pop apart and can be trimmed. No requirement necessary to refinish edges. Material self seals when cut in a warm state.
Recommended uses:
Wrist, hand, thumb and finger splints
Spasticity and larger splints
Serial splints
Body jackets
Foot drop splints
Dynamic outrigger splints
Excellent when splints require frequent modifications
